Description
What is Wegovy Multi FixDose and when is it used?
Wegovy Multi FixDose is a medicine for weight loss and weight maintenance with the active ingredient semaglutide. It is similar to a natural hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is released from the intestines after a meal. Wegovy Multi FixDose acts on receptors in the brain that control your appetite. This will make you feel more full and have fewer cravings. This helps you eat less and lose weight.
Wegovy Multi FixDose is used as prescribed by a doctor for weight loss and weight maintenance in addition to diet and physical activity in adults who:
- BMI of 30 kg/m² or more (obesity) or
- BMI of 27 kg/m² and less than 30 kg/m² (overweight) and weight-related diseases.
The BMI (body mass index) is a measurement of the ratio of weight to height.
When should Wegovy Multi FixDose not be used?
If you are allergic to semaglutide or any of the substances listed in the section “What is contained in Wegovy Multi FixDose?” the other ingredients of this medicine mentioned are.
When should you be careful when using Wegovy Multi FixDose?
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Wegovy Multi FixDose.
Effects on the digestive system
During treatment with Wegovy Multi FixDose you may feel sick, vomit or have diarrhea. These side effects can lead to loss of fluids (dehydration). It's important that you drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. This is especially important if you have kidney problems. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about this.
Inflammation of the pancreas
If severe and persistent abdominal pain occurs, see a doctor immediately as this may be a sign of acute inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). Tell your doctor if you have ever suffered from pancreatitis.
Thyroid disease
Talk to your doctor before using Wegovy Multi FixDose if you have a thyroid disorder including nodules and enlargement of the thyroid.
Patients with diabetes
Tell your doctor if you have diabetes. Your doctor may adjust the dose of your diabetes medicines to prevent hypoglycemia.
Do not use Wegovy Multi FixDose as a replacement for insulin.
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
Taking a medicine with a so-called sulphonylurea or using insulin together with Wegovy Multi FixDose could increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). Further information about the warning signs of hypoglycemia can be found in the section “What side effects can Wegovy Multi FixDose have?” Your doctor may ask you to measure your blood sugar levels. This will help your doctor decide whether the dose of the sulfonylurea or insulin needs to be changed to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
Diabetic eye disease (retinopathy)
Rapid improvements in blood sugar control can lead to a temporary worsening of diabetic eye disease. If you have a diabetic eye disease and experience eye problems while using Wegovy Multi FixDose, talk to your doctor.
Children and young people
This medicine should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age because its safety and effectiveness have not been established in this age group.
Using Wegovy Multi FixDose together with other medicines
Do not use Wegovy Multi FixDose in combination with other medicines that contain so-called GLP-1 receptor agonists (such as liraglutide, dulaglutide, exenatide or lixisenatide).
Ability to drive and use machines
Wegovy Multi FixDose is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use machines. Some patients may feel dizzy in the first 3 months of treatment with Wegovy Multi FixDose (see section “What side effects can Wegovy Multi FixDose have?”). If you feel dizzy, avoid driving a vehicle or operating machines. If you need further information, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not drive or operate machines if you notice signs of hypoglycemia. See section “When should you be careful when using Wegovy Multi FixDose?” for information on the increased risk of hypoglycaemia and the section “What side effects can Wegovy Multi FixDose have?” about the warning signs of hypoglycemia. Please contact your doctor for further information.

1 Preparing your pen with a new needle
Use the name and dose of your pen to check that it contains your prescribed dose of Wegovy Multi FixDose. Remove the cap from the pen.
Check that the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution in your pen is clear and colorless. To do this, check the viewing window of the pen. If the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution looks cloudy or discolored, you must not use the pen.
Always use a new needle for each injection. When you are ready for your injection, grab a needle. Check the paper tab and the outer needle cap for damage. If damage is visible, this could impact sterility. In this case, discard the needle and get a new one. Tear off the paper tab.
Slide the needle straight onto the pen. Screw it tight.
The needle has two caps. You need to pull off both caps. If you do not remove both caps, the injection of Wegovy Multi FixDose will not be possible. Pull off the outer needle cap and set aside for later use. You will need it after the injection so that you can safely remove the needle from the pen. Pull off the inner needle cap and discard it. A drop of the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution may come out at the tip of the needle. When using a new pen for the first time, you still need to make sure that it is compatible with the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution. See “Checking the flow of a new pen”. Never use bent or damaged needles. For more information on needle handling, see “About your needles” following these instructions for use.
Check the flow of a new pen
If you have already used your Wegovy Multi FixDose Pen once, continue with «2 Setting your dose». You only need to check the flow for the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution with a new pen before your first injection . Rotate the dose selector until you see the flow control symbol (
The flow control symbol must be at the level of the dose pointer.
Checking the flow | |
Hold the pen with the needle pointing upwards. Press and hold the dose button until the dose counter A drop of the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution should appear at the tip of the needle. When the drop comes out, your pen is ready to use. If there is no drop, check the flow again. You may only do this process twice. If there is still no drop coming out, use a new needle and then check the flow again. If no drop of the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution comes out, you must not use the pen .
2 Setting your dose | |
Rotate the dose selector until the dose counter stops and displays your prescribed dose .
The dotted line ( Depending on whether you turn the dose selector forward, back or past your dose, you will hear a different clicking sound. The dose selector clicks with each rotation. When setting the dose, do not rely on the number of clicks.
When the dose pointer points to your prescribed dose, you have set your dose. In the illustration below you can see an example dose If the dose counter stops before your prescribed dose is reached, see the section “Do you still have enough Wegovy Multi FixDose?” following these instructions for use.
Selecting the injection site Choose an injection site on the upper arm, thigh or abdominal area (5 cm from the belly button). You can give the injection in the same area of the body every week, but not in exactly the same place as last time.
3 Inject your dose | |
Insert the needle into your skin. Make sure you can see the dose counter. Don't cover it with your fingers. This could interrupt the injection.
Press and hold the dose button until the dose counter Continue to hold down the dose button, leave the needle in your skin and slowly count to 6. This
Pull the needle out of your skin. If you pull out the needle too early, a large amount of Wegovy Multi FixDose solution may come out of the tip of the needle and you will not receive the entire dose. If blood comes out of the injection site, press lightly to stop the bleeding. After the injection, a drop of the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution may appear at the tip of the needle. This is normal and will not affect your dose.
4 After your injection | |
Insert the needle tip into the outer needle cap on a flat surface without touching the needle or the outer needle cap. Once the needle is covered , carefully slide the outer needle cap all the way onto it.
Unscrew the needle and dispose of it immediately and properly as directed by your doctor, nurse, pharmacist. Never attempt to push the inner needle cap back onto the needle. You could prick yourself with the needle. To avoid accidental injury and infection resulting from needle sticks, used needles must be handled with extreme caution . Discard the needle immediately after each injection. Never store your pen with the needle attached.
After each use , put the cap back on your pen to protect the Wegovy Multi FixDose solution from light.
When the pen is empty, throw it away without the needle as directed by your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

Caring for your pens | |
